Google Assistant timer’s Easter eggs

Updates: by December 2022 these keywords were nor triggering funny timer sounds anymore, but by April 2023 they all came back? Google being Google, I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

A couple of weeks ago I had asked my kitchen’s Google Nest Mini to set a timer so I could come back and take the meat out of the oven. It was actually a bit surprising as it not only set the “30-min meat timer”, but it also made some funny noises. Once it was done, the actual sound would play repeatedly, as a different timer melody.

Since then I’ve been experimenting with different timer names. I tried googling for a list of those sounds, but if you try, you’ll probably get flooded with those lists of “100 funny Easter eggs you can ask Google”.

Thus, here are the sounds I’ve found so far:

• Turkey: a gobbly timer
• Chicken: yep, it clucks, mixed with a timer melody
• Meat: it sizzles, as your meat should do in the pan :)
• Dinner: some bells
• Christmas: of course, christmas-y bells
• Pizza: you guessed right, italian melody mixed in the timer
• Washing machine: some popping bubbles
• pie: some surprised “uhhh… ahhh…” crowd voices? lol
• cookie: kids!

What other names could trigger an Easter Egg timer?
